Introduction

The Public Service Vacancy Circular is published weekly (except in December) and features the latest government job vacancies across various public service departments.

While the circular is issued by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), the department is not responsible for the content of the job advertisements. All job-related inquiries must be directed to the respective advertising departments.

How to Apply for Public Service Jobs

1. Application Process

Candidates must submit a completed Z83 application form, along with:

• A detailed CV or additional sheets listing training, qualifications, competencies, knowledge, and experience.
• The reference number of the vacancy they are applying for.

Applications should be sent to the relevant department where the vacancy exists before the closing date.

For further information about a specific government job opening, applicants must contact the relevant department. The DPSA does not provide vacancy details.

2. Guidelines for Government Departments

• All employees should be made aware of the latest vacancies.
• Employees declared in excess should be informed about new openings and assisted in applying.
• When vacancies are designated for employment equity, they should align with the Employment Equity Act, 1998, ensuring diversity and representation in public service hiring.

Selection and assessment of candidates should follow the standard measures applicable to public service recruitment.
