The Department of Higher Education and Training and Western TVET College is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Cleaner, with a total of 21 available posts. The salary for this position is set at R125 373.00 per annum.

You can:

Position of Cleaner, To be eligible for this position, candidates must have a minimum of Grade 10 or ABET Level 4 education. They should also have knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures, as well as basic safety requirements. Familiarity with basic hand tools and the ability to read operating instructions and notices are also necessary.

Applicants should possess certain competencies, knowledge, and skills. These include commitment and a strong work ethic, as well as the ability to work long hours and handle pressure. Good interpersonal relations and verbal communication skills are also important. Knowledge of repetitive tasks, hygiene, and facilities policies, as well as relevant legislation, prescripts, policies, and procedures, is required.

The duties of this position involve maintaining the cleanliness of the building through various cleaning tasks. This includes dusting and waxing office furniture, sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors, as well as cleaning walls, windows, and floors. Collecting and removing waste papers, freshening office areas, cleaning the college/campus kitchen and basins, and washing and packing kitchen utensils are also part of the responsibilities. Additionally, emptying and washing waste bins and disposing of recyclables are required tasks.
