IEC IS HIRING FOR VARIOUS POSITIONS

IEC is hiring, currently seeking candidates for various positions, totaling 215 available posts. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are suitably qualified for the roles. Specifically, we are in need of registration staff, field workers, handymen/drivers, and more. The salary rate for these positions is R370, which is subject to statutory deductions and the number of days engaged or trained.

The primary objective of these positions is to contribute to the strengthening of electoral democracy processes. This will involve assisting in the coordination of voter registration and related programs at the voting station level, ultimately ensuring the smooth operation of elections.

To be considered for these roles, applicants must meet certain minimum requirements. Firstly, they must be South African citizens. Additionally, they must be registered voters themselves. In the past five years, applicants must not have held any political office or been candidates in any elections.

IEC is hiring They must also not have been politically active for a specific party or involved in campaigning for a political party. If an applicant has appeared on the candidate list of any political party for local governments, their appointment will be immediately terminated.

Furthermore, in the past five years, applicants must not have been elected to office in an organization that has party political affiliations or aims. Finally, applicants must not have been convicted of any serious criminal offenses. Basic technological knowledge and experience, such as proficiency with computers and other devices, will also be required for these positions.

Responsibilities for the job may include conducting door-to-door registration in the designated voting district, utilizing a registration device to complete the process, distributing pamphlets to voters informing them of changes to the voting station, and assisting with the administrative tasks associated with the registration process.

IEC is hiring The Electoral Commission will only contact those who are selected for the position, and there is no guarantee that all positions will be filled even after advertising. It is important for applicants to not have a prominent affiliation with a political party. Along with a comprehensive curriculum vitae and certified copies of qualifications, applicants must also provide a recent bank statement, SARS tax number, and identification document. Applications that are submitted after the advertised closing date will not be considered. Successful candidates for permanent positions will be required to enter into performance contracts.
