Job Description
As an Engineering Assistant, you will provide essential technical support and assistance to the Engineering Foreman and Artisans in carrying out various engineering tasks. This role requires hands-on work, teamwork, and adherence to high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and work areas
- Control materials, workshop machinery, and equipment
- Assist with the use of engineering tools and equipment
- Load, transport, and dispatch materials and equipment to work sites
- Provide assistance to artisans and operational employees
- Ensure tools and materials are available and properly maintained
- Follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Communicate unexpected issues to artisans and team members
- Promote safety awareness and report any safety-related concerns
This role is at a B2 level, reporting to the Engineering Foreman/Artisan.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- Internal candidates – IDC development through ABET, NCOR, or NTC1
Preferred Experience:
- At least 1 year of plant experience (advantageous)
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication skills in English
- A valid driver’s license will be an advantage
